Managing severe allergies poses different challenges when you are a baby, a child, a teenager or an adult. As children grow up and rely less on mum and dad, there are some simple steps parents can take to prepare their child for living with allergies. It is important that children have supervised independence before they start going out on their own or with friends without adult supervision. Similarly, adults face different issues in the workplace or when socialising and they need to look at ways to manage with their allergy when at work and when socialising to help create a safer work environment and feel more able to relax and have fun with family and friends. |
